Carol Diane Nelson

When I began my art career over 25 years ago, I worked in a realistic style in watercolor and oils.  Eventually, my work evolved into a more abstract style and led to my work with textures, collage, and fluid acrylic paints.  I am a certified Art Educator with Golden Paints.

My passion is experimenting with mixed media materials and creating my vision of the world around me.  The Rocky Mountains near Denver are a deep source of inspiration.  Color, values, texture, and composition are important elements in all my work.

I love teaching workshops both around the country and in my home studio near Denver, Colorado.  After 20+ years of teaching, it is still a thrill to hear how my instruction has literally changed the lives of so many artists around the country.

After the pandemic shut down in-person workshops, I began to offer online instructional videos.  My Teachable site (https://carol-nelson-mixed-media-art.teachable.com/p/home) has many courses, some paid and some free.  Once purchased, the course is yours forever with no expiration date. Taking a workshop, either in person, or online, can totally inspire your creativity and give you new directions to explore with your art.

I sell my original paintings primarily online through my website, https://carolnelsonfineart.com and social media sites.  Excellent reproductions of my work are available through my site on Fine Art America at: Carol-nelson.pixels.com
