Magical Creatures and Curious Constructions

March 15–22, 2026 in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

This hands-on workshop will guide participants in creating magical creatures and curious constructions using found materials such as discarded tools, furniture parts, metal, wood, and more.

Drawing inspiration from beautiful San Miguel and nature, the workshop emphasizes creative reuse, storytelling through materials, and sculptural techniques. Participants will connect to a sense of place, nature, and the history of the materials they work with, allowing them to create sculptures that reflect personal and collective narratives.

Storytelling with Collage and Dimensional Mixed Media

March 22–29, 2026 in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

Collage, assemblage, and mixed media can be traced back hundreds of years, but those techniques made a dramatic return in the early 20th century during the Cubism period, as embodied by Braque, Picasso, and Ernst.

Together, we will embark on a journey of discovery using these techniques. You'll find out how to incorporate textures, color combinations, and images into your acrylic and mixed media painting. You'll discover how to unite disparate elements such as papers, paint skins, dimensional objects, and more to create new art that's greater than the sum of its parts.

The Muse That Is San Miguel de Allende

In San Miguel, color and texture are everywhere—sunlight on terra-cotta walls, bursts of bougainvillea, markets alive with sound and motion. This town doesn’t just inspire art—it is art.

In San Miguel, art isn’t confined to studios or canvases—it’s in the air, the light, the rhythm of daily life.

Leave with new techniques, yes—but more importantly, leave seeing the world the way an artist does.
